helpyou1Even in a slumping economy, Walmart applications are the best choice if you’re looking to apply for a retail position.  While most stores are struggling to sell clothing off their shelves, this retail giant has continued to prosper.

With plans to hire over 20,000 employees this year alone, job applications in Walmart stores around your area are yours for the taking.

There are many reasons for Walmart’s success including being able to keep overhead costs to a minimum, selling much lower-priced prescription, generic drugs through their pharmacies, and a new health insurance program which currently covers 94% of its employees, including part-timers.

Walmart stocks profits tumbled slightly during the first quarter of 2009 as expected, but not nearly as much as other retail store chains.  The company has also updated and added much new merchandise, easily attracting frugal customers looking for bargains on every day needs.

What does all this mean for someone looking for a job or long-term career in the retail industry?  It means Wal Mart job applications are an excellent, secure investment in anyone’s future.  Even if it takes a few years to come out of our present recession, or if we were to suffer another recession in the future, chances are your job will be safe from layoffs.

You can visit the store of your choice and use the kiosk to apply inside the store or you can simply visit their website and fill out a Walmart online job application at: http://walmartstores.com/Careers/

sams1Available jobs in Walmart stores are increasing by the thousands in 2009 due to the opening and expansion of 150 stores, giving prospective workers a better chance at landing a position once they fill out walmart job applications.

Approximately 22,000 Walmart jobs will have to be filled, the majority of which will be cashiers and clerks, but plenty of mangement positions, pharmacist jobs, and personnel careers will also be available.

Although Walmart recently came under fire from unions claiming the big retail company was short-changing its employees regarding a variety of issues including benefits and pay, its health insurance plans have vastly improved and the pay has become much more competitive, making a Wal Mart job opportunity the obvious best choice for those wishing to work in a retail position.

The company, whose sales exceeded $400 billion in 2008,  claims to have shared over $2 billion with its employees through various perks including the company’s 401k plan and bonuses.

Of all the available jobs at Wal mart, the most popular application is for an entry-level associate position.  Although these are typically low-paying jobs to start, they offer a chance at career advancement with their excellent training programs.

Sam’s club jobs are also available through the official Walmart careers site, as well as by applying in person.  The founder of WM, Sam Walton, opened up the first Sam’s Club in 1983 hoping to fill the need for small business owners to buy large quantities of essential items for their businesses at discounted prices.

Today SC continues to thrive and is also a magnet for people shopping for groceries, and with millions of members all over the world its sales exceeding $45 billion a year.  This means workers filling out a Walmart job application may want to consider a career at this super megastore.
